Trench wars!
Well, I guess it was pretty bad, but more stupid than anything else.
I bet none of the men knew they would be throwing away their lives just because their country was to stupid to plan a proper fight.
This guy is german... Helmet... nice, never seen it from their side before.
The Germans were better prepared, they made digging tools that were silent, so that the enemy wouldn't know when they were above ground digging holes for the poles and barbed wire.
They also had better food and a wooden platform they would sit there men on at night.... so they didn't freeze.
The English on the other hand, were the DUMBEST EVER... at least the people that sent them their. They bashed in their poles with hammers and got shot every night. They fought down hill in a trench when the enemy was up hill shooting down. They didn't have any warm away from the wet ground supplies and all they had to eat was dried brick hard biscuits that they left in the mud to get soft.
When shit like that happens, then you know your country doesn't love you. Any person if you told them you are going to dig a trench, would know what to expect. Mud! Cold! Rats! Death! To me it's an Insult to be British, to think back and realize that not one person in power thought about these simple problems. To me, I feel like those that died, HATED their countries... every man knew that day, that they weren't worth the effort of saving that day... they were all part of a business meeting that wasn't planned for
